James Comey FBI Director cannot please everybody. It’s now Republicans turn to jump on his throat.

FBI Director James Comey announced Nov 6, that upon review of the recently discovered emails FBI has concluded the emails did not change his original conclusion that Democratic Party Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton did not violate any laws and should be charged. Maybe he should have looked at the emails first before sending the bombshell letter in the first place.

Most parts of the statement released is quoted below. This is now final but expect Republican nominee Donald Trump, who profusely praised Comey last week, to come out and attack him viciously.

I write to supplement my October 28, 2016 letter that notified you the FBI would be taking additional investigative steps with respect to the former Secretary of State Clinton’s use of a personal email server. Since my letter, the FBI investigative team has been working around the clock to process and review a large volume of emails from a device obtained in connection with an unrelated criminal investigation. During that process we reviewed all of the communications that were to or from Hillary Clinton while she was Secretary of State.

Based on our review, we have not changed our conclusions that we expressed in July with respect to Secretary Clinton. I am very grateful to the professionals at the FBI for doing an extraordinary amount of high-quality work in a short period of time.

While it’s great Comey finally put this issue to rest, the damage is already done and his letter Oct 28, may have negatively impacted early voting in favor of Trump in the presidential race and Republicans in the down-ballot races.
