If Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe first 120 days were anything like President Donald Trump’s first 120 days as US president, the world would understand. But Trump is not the president of Zimbabwe, he is the president of United States, the most powerful nation in the world.

Well, as of today, May, 16, 2017, Trump is not quite yet at his 120th day mark, but it doesn’t hurt to round it off. He will get there Saturday and these are about to be his longest 3 days.

Jeb Bush predicted if elected, Donald Trump would be a chaos president. He was right, but it was not hard to see Trump taking this path and making Bush sound like a prophet. Everything about Trump is erratic, he is not curious, he does not understand history, it is said that he does not read, his ideas are basic and poorly-thought out and his mannerisms are juvenile. It’s unfathomable that some people thought this man would make anything close to a leader not to mention a good president, the leader of the free world.

But here we’re. We’re where we are.

The latest controversy to engulf Trump’s young chaotic, incompetent presidency is he tried to coerce former FBI Director James Comey into dropping investigations on disgraced former National Security Adviser Gen. Michael Flynn and his ties to Russia. According to the New York Times, Trump asked Comey in a private Oval Office meeting to drop investigations into Flynn saying he is a good guy.

In a memo Comey created recounting the February Oval Office meeting, which took place a day after Flynn was fired, Trump is reported to have asked Comey “I hope you can let this go,” a direct move that if proven, indicates he tried to directly influence investigation into the Russian hacking of the US presidential election and investigation into his campaign possible collusion with Russia to defeat Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

This revelation has brought to life comparisons of Trump and impeached former President Richard Nixon and escalated drumbeats for Trump’s impeachment, accusations of obstruction of justice and cemented the view Trump’s White House is involved in a cover-up.

The Comey memo revelation comes on the heels of a Washington Post report that Trump revealed highly sensitive classified information to Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. The trio were seen laughing it up in Oval office photos captured by a Russian photographer who was given exclusive access while American journalists were frozen. As if to rub it in, Lavrov, mocked Comey firing in the presence of timid-looking US Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson and acting like he owns the place.

The top secret classified information shared with the Russians apparently was received from Israeli intelligence and is perceived to put the United States in unfavorable position with Israel, as the Jewish state considers Russia too close Iran, their regional adversary and the information could be passed on to Iran compromising their position and agents. This is yet another indicator that Trump has no clue about what he is doing and has no business being President of United States.

Trump is on record numerous times questioning Clinton’s fitness to be president because of her email scandal saying she could not be trusted with the nation’s secrets. But it’s hard to see how Trump is a better choice to handle our state secrets. He hired Flynn to be his National Security Adviser and kept him on the job for 18 days after he was warned that Flynn may be a foreign agent and had shared sensitive information with Kislyak.

But it gets worse, The New York Times reported May 17, that Flynn, did in fact tell Trump’s transition team Jan 4 that he was under FBI investigation for secretly working as a paid lobbyist for Turkey. But that did not stop Trump from appointing him as a National Security Adviser, a position that did not require congressional approval. It’s as if Trump wanted him in his administration so bad that he found a way to go around any kind of Congressional oversight.

Trump’s bizarre behavior emphasizes questions that many have about him.

Why does Trump behave like this? Why does he look subservient to Russians? Is he being blackmailed? Is he a Russian agent? What’s the deal here?

It is clear more and more each day that Trump is incapable of being president and Democrats and President Barack Obama were right during the campaigns to say he does not have the temperament, intellect or gravitas of holding the job.

The first 120 days of Trump’s administration, to be very generous to Trump have been alarming and mediocre. They have been filled with almost daily scandal, lies and unbelievable incompetence for a presidency of a first world nation.

Looking down memory lane, which sounds like a distant past but is actually less than 6 months ago, Trump was reported to have lashed out at the Australian Prime Minister because he disagreed with a deal Australia had made with former President Barack Obama about accepting Syrian refugees. It did not matter to him that Australia is one of America’s most reliable allies. It’s extremely baffling that the same Trump fired 59 Tomahawk missiles into Syria as a response to President Bashar al-Assad gas attack on his own citizens. In his justification, Trump said he could not tolerate watching children being gassed, yet he could not find a place in his heart to allow the same children to escape the war in Syria and come to the United States as refugees by placing Syria on the list of majority Muslim countries whose citizens are banned from traveling to the United States.

That is just one example of Trump’s 100 days of confusing thought-process that has done nothing to help US standing in the world. Let’s put it this way, Trump is not confusing, there is no strategy, he has no plan, and he is not going to learn of change for the better, Trump is flat-out incompetent. Anybody who pretends otherwise is in denial. He does not know what he is doing and he is making it up as it goes.

During the campaigns, Trump essentially promised that anything he touched, if elected president, would turn to gold. Well, not literally. He said he alone can fix America’s problems, he said healthcare is easy to fix only to meet with insurance executives and doing an about face and said nobody knew health insurance was so complicated, while in fact everybody except him, knew healthcare, which is 17 percent of the US GDP, is very complicated.

Trump made many foolish empty promises during the campaign that have all failed to materialize of stalled in the face of the realist vetting of adults in US politics.  He promised to build a wall in our southern border and Mexico would pay for it. That has failed. Mexico essentially laughed at him and he has since changed tune and he is looking for ways to pay for it using budgetary tricks that even Republicans find idiotic. He promised that he would label China a currency manipulator, he has changed his mind under the pretext that China has agreed to help solve the ongoing North Korea menace and threat of nuclear confrontation. But the other story is China approved 38 long-standing trademarks for Trump’s business in China, a clear conflict of interest that can be viewed as efforts of a foreign power bribing the US president and trashed our NATO allies as obsolete.

We can break down Trump’s incompetencies in 4 large groups.

  • Scandal
  • Blatant lies
  • Colossal incompetence
  • Meanness

President Obama’s nickname was no drama Obama. His philosophy was running a drama free White House that adhered to policy and high ethical standards. In fact, Obama’s administration fired Flynn, a fact that Trump has bizarrely used to claim Obama is responsible for everything that is wrong with him. Newsflash to Trump, Obama fired Flynn. That means he rejected him. So it would be prudent to quit with the whiny excuses for not doing your due diligence in vetting him and stop the cover-ups. Nobody is being fooled except those who want to.

The list of Trump’s scandal is long. The Atlantic compiled a long list, here it is. Coming from a scandal free administration, this can be a little overwhelming, so we will just focus on a few, the ones that makes people say WTF!
